Conquered operational challenges that hindered a construction material distributor from thriving.
Revamped the warehouse layout to allow for all items to fit in an occasional surge in stocks. Our methods involved us classifying the inventories into several categories based on its dimensions, weight and strength of packaging and, with that for each category, calculating the most space-efficient configuration and highest possible storage heights on the palette before plotting each category onto a map.
Analyzed inventory turnover for each item in stock based on historical sales data. Took inventory turnover into consideration of where to place a category of items in the warehouse.
Conducted research on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to decide on which best fits our client’s business needs and budget. Proposed Dynamics NAV to our client to correct their defective FIFO system and theft security issues. Helped a WMS vendor gather all the necessary data for system installation from direct on-site observation and mensuration.
Calculated every optimal ‘nesting’ combinations for pipes considering scenarios where different size pipes changes in quantity.
