FPGA Implementation of the Scale Invariant Feature Transform Estimation with RANSAC and the 5-Point Method.

Using the Xilinx PYNQ Z1(ZYNQ 7000 series) FPGA allowed reconfiguration of FPGA using Python and inclusion of IP blocks in the code by generating Bitstream file in Xilinx Vivado Design Suite.

The object pose estimation using stereo/mono vision camera needed the 5-point model to provide many precise object feature point locations, and then a statistical anthropometric 3-D model combined with SIFT to calculate the object pose.

The USB Camera was set up in the Jupyter Notebook interface (Anaconda Distribution) and the real time image/video was acquired and the image processing was offloaded to the ARM hardcore operating at 800MHZ. The results were then transmitted through the AXI Bridge to the Video IP core in FPGA and finally displayed on the screen via the driven control.

Worked in fabrication of Titanium Resistor on 6" silicon wafer using thin film CVD and lift off technique.

The process flow in the lab was as follows: (i) Adhesion promoter spin coating (ii) Hotplate bake Resist spinning

(iii) Hotplate resist bake Exposure on Karl Suss MA6 (iv) Resist development Wafer rinse and dry Optical microscope control on the wafer. (v) Ti evaporation of Evatec BAK 640 Optical inspection and/or measurements on metrology tool. Finally, the Lift off is performed followed by Optical inspection and measurements on metrology tool. The resulting resistor’s resistance is tested by means of 4-point probe resistivity measurements. Page 2
