Ensure effective support of the Firm’s server environment and related components including server performance monitoring and reporting, tuning, system software patching, and troubleshooting.
Monitor, test and review security systems identifying abnormal or suspicious activity, collect appropriate data to triage and escalate for tier 2 investigation.
Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems that include, but are not limited to: telecommunications circuits, routers, switches, VoIP systems, servers, and operating systems
Recognize, identify, and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact.
Provide timely response to all incidents, outages, and performance alerts. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams with proper documentation and notification.
Collect and review performance reports for various systems, and report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel to predict future issues or outages.
Responsible for resolving production incidents by working with internal and external technology support organizations; is accountable for owning the incident and driving through to resolution.
Performs initial tier 1 troubleshooting techniques in attempt to resolve incidents related to Network, Telecom, and Data Center related facilities. Escalates using official escalation procedures when appropriate.
Responsible for managing service requests and executing standard changes with minimal supervision. Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team player with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services while executing these changes.
Responsible for developing and writing operations processes and procedures.
Notify and engage third-party service providers of issues, outages and remediation status.
Initial incident management coordination by opening conference bridges, notifying proper staff and managers of major issues or outages, facilitating proper communication with Service Desk staff, and managing outage communications.
Provides briefings and other communication for sharing ideas and proposals for concepts that are often controversial or novel, providing technical defense as needed.
Experience providing technical and administrative management solutions and recommendations in resolving problems associated with telecommunications systems, facilities and services.
Experience with writing administrative correspondence, trip reports, operating instructions, technical studies and recommendation reports.
Experience with arbitrating, negotiating, consulting, advising and providing written documentation.
Perform analysis, design, engineering, evaluation, integration and upgrading of existing and future networks including technologies such as satellite communications (SATCOM), RF and cellular communications systems, SONET, ATM, Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM), advanced networking services and performance of WDM fiber optic communications systems and other emerging technologies.
Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplinary actions when required; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsible for working and partnering with other network engineers in implementing and monitoring local area networks that typically link to numerous computer platforms, operating systems and network topologies across a widely dispersed geographical area
Provides guidance and technical oversight of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) contract, to support the Military Departments, to include the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and all other DOD organizations, to provide a wide-range of telecommunication's scope and overall mission impact requirements.
Providing technical guidance, assistance and advice application of advance new theories, concepts and developments to telecommunications problems not susceptible to treatment by conventional methods, technology or procedures
Making decisions and developing policies for innovative telecommunications program requirements;
Providing authoritative interpretations and guidance to management officials and other telecommunications specialist, (i.e. resolves issues involving conflicting telecommunications requirements, etc.)
Knowledgeable of SafeNet Encryptors for Commercial Network Encryption, this includes identifying, security procedures, circuit paths, speeds, trouble shooting, and reading circuit diagrams for our client
Establish coordinating security procedures to implement guidance throughout the projects worked on and assigned to others.
Knowledge of project management techniques, including leading or managing technical projects related to spectrum dependent systems.
Ensures grounding and bonding are compliant with applicable standards and codes.

Worked between vendors and contractors by verifying the statement of work at the point of demarcation to physically extending services such as T1, SONET, ATM, DSL and dedicated lease lines to the customer premise equipment.
Troubleshot and resolved variety of local and remote digital signal processor issues with the JDSU 8000, 5800 and HST 3000-bit error rate tester.
DISA testing standards on a T1, DS1 through OC192.
Travel to sites to conduct acceptance test and troubleshooting on circuits ranging from T1, Ethernet and DS1 to OC192 circuits.
