Activities:
I have spent my entire adult life giving back to the community through volunteering. I retired in 2014 as a Captain from the Santa Fe County Fire Department, Edgewood District, after volunteering with the organization since 2003. I was also one of few female engineers for the department. I created, organized, and taught all of medical courses needed to recertify the EMT’s who were in need.
I have also spent countless hours creating and designing jewelry and crocheted projects. I attend and sell my created crafts at craft shows throughout the Durango and Bayfield areas, during the “craft show season” between October and December.
My greatest accomplishment has been raising my 3 children, ages 2,9 and 15, as a single mother. Throughout my career, education, and successes in life, my children have been side by side with me. Together, we have learned that discipline and hard work are some of the strongest attributes needed for success, and I will carry this knowledge with me, wherever my career path may lead.
