Position: Retail Draftsman (First position)

The Retail Draftsman position was responsible for producing drawings for the regional store planners in a very timely and accurate fashion. These drawings included a fixture plan, department layout, merchandise schematic, and a décor plan. Optional drawings included exterior elevations along with lighting and site plans. These drawings were completed using “Micro-cadam” software.

Position: Store Planner (Second position)

The Store Planner position is responsible for managing a particular region of the country. The types of projects a planner is involved in range from complete retrofits to new ground-up stores. Expansions, relocations, and branches all lie within this range. Some of the many duties included: field work (obtaining bldg. measurements, fixture and décor requirements, and merchandise mix). I would then present finished drawings to the retailers and other field members. These drawings are completed by using “Autocad” software.

Position: Project Manager (Third position)

The Project Manager is responsible for implementing new stores, remodeling existing stores, and converting other competitor stores to Ace Hardware. This requires to lead & coordinate all the stakeholders involved in all these projects, these include the Merchandising teams, the Store Planning & design departments, & the Project Support Specialist to order the vendor racks, gladson tags, etc. The main objective of the Project Manager is to complete all store projects on time and on budget.

Homart Development, May 1984–December 1988

Position: Retail Drafting Specialist

The responsibility of this position was to produce layouts for regional shopping malls across the country. Tenant print packages were designed in the form of a manual, listing all the architectural guidelines. The floor plan showed the dimensions of each shop in the mall and the location of utilities. These drawings were completed using “Cadvacne” and “Autocad” software.
