Skills & Abilities
Knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis to create, review, and revise engineering drawings.
Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge in Composite including calculating stresses, designing composite parts, using software to simulate complex composite geometries.
Basic knowledge in MATLAB, LabView, C++, PSPICE, and VBA.
Academic Engineering Experience
SAE Aero Senior Design Project: the goal was to build a plane with minimum empty weight and accurate drop system to drop payloads in target areas.
Led small teams to do composite layups creating aircraft’s components.
Led a sub-team to design the aircraft’s empennage.
Knew wet layup and prepreg layup processes thoroughly.
Utilized aerodynamic knowledge to design both vertical and horizontal tails which take important roles in maintaining aircraft’s stability.
Calculated stresses to size structural components (i.e. bulkhead, stringers).
Utilized Solid Work to create 3D models, detail drawings, and assembly drawings for aircraft’s components.
Material Science: did material heat treatment, quenching, grinding, and polishing to improve properties and surface finish on various types of metals such as steels, brass, aluminum, etc.
Used tensile testing machine, Brinell hardness tester, manual and automatic Rockwell A, B, and C
Used microscope to analyze material’s grain sizes and structures.
Work Experience
Machine Shop Assistant June 2014 - July 2015
Worked with manual machineries (certified by CSUN to use manual machineries).
Communicated with machinists about parts requirements from engineering drawings.
