EXPERIENCE, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY
Undergraduate and Graduate Research Student Under Dr. Jeongmin Ahn in the Combustion and Energy Lab, Summer 2015 - Spring 2018
- Studied the stability of oxygen transport membrane reactors under pure Carbon Dioxide environments.
- Compared performance and reaction kinetics of off the shelf materials versus laboratory synthesized material used for oxygen transport membranes by characterizing diffusion coefficient with thermal gravimetric analysis
- Fabricated tubular fuel cell anodes using a ram extruder and planar fuel cell anodes by dry pressing.
- Developed experiments to determine the porosity, permeability, and performance of cells. Teaching Assistant, Fall 2016 – Spring 2018
- Assisted with senior mechanical engineering lab. Ran many different experiments demonstrating topics covered in classes through an undergraduate degree and graded resulting reports from experimental results. Topics included solid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics, control systems, and turbomachinery and HVAC system performance.
- Lead weekly recitation courses for undergraduate heat transfer where weekly topics covered in lecture were reinforced.
- Lead Computational Tools labs where Engineering problems were solved in Excel and MATLab while working with the students reinforcing basic programming techniques.
- Responsible in the creation of answer keys for weekly quizzes in Heat Transfer while grading the quizzes. Academic Excellence Workshop Facilitator, Fall 2013- Spring 2018
- Ran a one credit extra help session with assigned practice problems once a week for students. Sessions would be held for any level of calculus or basic undergraduate thermodynamics.
- Helped students to strengthen skills using Khan Academy as an alternative resource for extra practice in problem areas for the students while collaborating with other facilitators and a staff of Khan Academy on the progress of the development.
Senior Design Project, 2016
- Worked on a team of 3 to design, build, and fly an aircraft capable of transporting a payload comprised of a pizza box filled with golf balls
