PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Senior Design Project S eptember 2017-May 2018
Portable motorization of a standard manual wheelchair with an innovative and lightweight overall design. Role: Group Project Manager, Research and Development, Design
● Leader of a 6 member student group conducting research, design development, and prototype construction of a retrofit kit. Assigned project roles to peers based on each individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
● A custom designed closed electrical system was integrated with an electro-mechanical subsystem, involving an Arduino robotics kit, for wheelchair propulsion.
● The apparatus produced for system mounting and adjustment was an innovative, lightweight design.
● A fully functioning prototype was built and tested. P erformance Parameters: maximum weight of 250 pound user, maximum speed of 5.4 mph, assembly and mounting time of less than 10 minutes, final cost of full kit:
$850.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Head Physical Therapy Aide East Windsor, N.J.
Atlantic Physical Therapy A ugust 2012 – June 2018
● Assisted over 150 patients per month with the goal of minimizing their recovery times utilizing my full understanding of biomechanics and anatomy and proper rehabilitation form.
● Effectively built a rapport with each patient to understand their concerns and limitations. This information is used when planning and providing assistance with necessary modalities and exercises.
● Create quarterly outcome reports and analyze trends to improve operational performance
● Administrative responsibilities include creating the full-time schedule for the entire aide staff; ensuring coverage is provided in the most cost effective manner.
Physics and Mathematics Tutor New Brunswick, N.J.
Self-Employed S eptember 2016 – May 2018
● Private tutoring (one-on-one) provided to both high-school and college level students studying math/physics courses.
● Based on my experience and deep understanding of algebra, geometry, statistics, physics, and calculus, formulated an effective teaching method that helps students succeed.
● By linking interests that a student is truly passionate about to their coursework, each individual is better connected with the specific topics they are struggling with and becomes more motivated to understand the material. CLUBS
