AUSTAL USA - Mobile, AL – Shipbuilder - U.S. Government Contracts / Commercial Traffic Lead – International / Domestic – July 2017 to July 2018 Manage Austal USA Import / Export compliance and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations. Act as central point of contact with brokers and US Customs and Border Patrol. Work with Contracts, Buyers, and Logistics operations to ensure required authorizations are obtained in a timely manner to support production needs. Coordinate timely and cost-efficient purchase orders and coordinate proper charging and timely payment of freight costs. Develop and maintain metrics to track and analyze logistics / freight cost and performance. Analyze cost / performance by carriers and modes; implement improvements to achieve best combination of cost and performance for Austal USA. Prepare request for quotes for freight and logistics services. Analyze bids and made recommendations for service provider selection. Develop and implement a freight routing guide and ensure supplier compliance. Develop and implement a freight bill audit process.
