To Whom It May Concern:
I respectfully request for you to accept this letter as an expression of my sincere intent to take the nurse practitioner position at your highly reputable institution. I reckon that the professional experience and education that I have acquired from the past decade and a half would suffice for me to be the ideal candidate for such an incredible position at the organization.
I have worked as a registered nurse on different units including open heart surgery, general surgery, critical care, medical, pediatric, and geriatric units for a total of thirteen years. I have lived in three different countries namely, Philippines, England, and United States. Those years spent adapting to different cultures and diversified populations have taught me to possess a profound understanding of people who belong to different walks of life. The variety of ages from infancy to geriatric patients whom I have cared for in the past has also been beneficial to my learning of rendering the best quality care to patients who come for my upkeep. The ability of speaking English, Spanish, Tagalog, and other dialects has also been my strong assets in patient communication through the years. Furthermore, relocation is something I would consider for the job position.
My strong zeal for love of others by offering professional health services has been infallible and I plan on continuously sharing my talents to the people around me. Further, I foresee welcoming challenges that may come my way as part of my learning journey. Working in collaboration with physicians, other medical staff, patients and families is one of my priorities and I believe that I would be an exceedingly valuable contribution to your department.
Attached to this cover letter is my resume and portfolio. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me as necessary. Thank you kindly.
Sincerely,
Tricia Rose F. Alegado, RN, MSN, FNP-C, CNOR

Personal Philosophy Statement
I am a believer that I am now living not to simply exist, rather to leave a legacy of positive impact to the society. Being endowed with the talents and opportunities that I have, I have self-affirmed to share these to my ecological niche so my surroundings, most importantly the people, can benefit from me. Love is a verb and attending to other people’s health needs changes lives for the better. Entailing actions by providing evidence-based interventions, accurate diagnosis, and efficient health teachings to patients are my main focus. I am committed to promoting health and wellness of the population and I reckon that primary health is paramount to the lives of every individual in this world. I will create a positive impact in this generation while I am alive and even after that. I want to change the health of the patients who seek for my care in ways that they can live longer and quality lives. Moreover, unceasing learning through collaboration with physicians, other medical staff, patients and families is something that I am looking forward to every single work day. Most significantly, I have ultimate respect for God, who is my presence from beginning until the end. I am blessed with a career and a platform wherein I have power to do good to other people through promoting their health and I will do so to the best of my ability.
Personal Goals
My short-term goals include: Being employed at a job as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) that is within 20 miles radius drive from our home, where I will stay happy and content being able to care for at least 15 patients daily, learn and work with colleagues harmoniously, and acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitude that a novel FNP needs; I will maintain my own set of routine in performing my efficient tasks at the job, including organized and timely 15 to 30-minute interaction with each patient, creating evidence-based health plans and interventions for each individual, and accurate documenting; and, I will be able to sustain professional and peaceful rapport with all of my colleagues as evidenced by continuous teamwork, an ethical non-violent work environment, acceptance of constructive criticism, punctuality, and supportive work atmosphere.
My long-term goals include are: After 3 years of being an FNP, I will be starting my Doctorate Degree program as a nurse practitioner at a reputable and accredited university that is within 50 miles drive from the home; after 5 years of practicing as an FNP, I will publish a health-related research that I have completed myself; and after 5 years of my FNP career, I will be a preceptor to nurse practitioner students from schools that are accredited and as allowed at my work at the time.
