MSc Dissertation

“Identifying Responders to Melphalan and Dexamethasone for Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma Patients. Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, 2008”. I used classification and regression tree analysis (CART) and subgroup analyses in SAS to identify independent predictive factors for overall survival of patients with cancer. PhD Dissertation

“Identifying the association of sleep and metabolic syndrome in three large datasets of NHANES, Jackson Heart Study and REGARDS”. I employed the generalized additive models with penalized smoothing spline to assess the relationship.

GRANTS

IBD clinical trial grant. This was the first double blind clinical trial of the world to compare the efficacy and safety of anti-depressant medications on ulcerative colitis. The research was carried out in Poursina Research Institute during 2004-2008. I was the PI in this project.

SLE grant. Evaluation of patients’ survivals as well as disease behavior, incidence, prevalence and outcomes in children and adults in city of Isfahan. The research was carried out in Alzahra Hospital and IUMS during 2009-2017. About 20 manuscripts have been published based on this long term investigation. I was the co-investigator in this grant.

Dapsone gel clinical trial. The first double blind clinical trial in the world to compare the efficacy and safety of dapsone gel and metronidazole gel in Alzahra Hospital in 2013. I was the co-investigator in this grant.
