Riemer Remediation Engineer Production Operator II Content Manager
OBJECTIVE
Detail oriented and motivated environmental remediation engineer who is looking to leverage over 3 years or remediation, drilling, client field interaction, report writing, and permitting experience and 4.5 years of engineering school into an Environmental health and safety, engineering, or consulting Position.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Executed remediation efforts that monitor and clean up underground storage tank spills at gas stations and dry cleaners, and natural gas pipeline bursts in multiple States surrounding Colorado.
Operate a remote controlled, track driven, drilling rig for use during groundwater injections, direct push soil sampling, and setting monitoring wells either by direct push or auger.
Mix and inject various chemical during groundwater injections including activated carbon, Oxygen release compound-Advanced (ORC-A), and other chemical with extremely basic pH levels.
Sample monitoring wells and jar soil samples for PID testing and further lab testing.
Coordinate remediation efforts with clients and state government agencies by acquiring the necessary permits and contracting the appropriate contractors during the initial phases of a job.
Analyze injection data to look for statistical inaccuracies or errors.
Analyze data and summarize for use in reports to the clients/state.
Was responsible for maintenance on certain ceramic presses
Operated a waterjet and ceramic presses and performed QA upon the finished product.
Managed a team of writers and oversaw their projects and enforced deadlines.
Edited articles for content, format and grammar.
Wrote articles and performed the necessary tasks required to get good content including outside research and conducting interviews.
LAB WORK AND TEAM PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Senior Design Project Leader:
Lead a team of 5 other engineering students in the design of a storm water capture system.
Coordinated meetings between team and clients and assigned work.
Designed a storm water capture pond to store storm water, an inlet system to restrict/guide flow into pond, and a transport system to allow removal from pond for testing.
Used GIS and HEC-HMS to analyze our watershed and size the system appropriately.
Environmental Engineering Lab:
Tested for basic water quality parameters including; pH, conductivity, turbidity, DO, alkalinity, hardness, BOD, ammonia and nitrate, TSS, chlorine, to analyze wastewater and creek water.
Carried out basic hydrology techniques including surveying and stream gauging.
Executed acute toxicity tests using Daphnia magna and bioaccumulation tests using earthworms.
Performed DNA extraction, analyzed DNA using PCR, microscopy.
Analyzed metals using acid digestion and LC-MS/MS, and ICP-AES.
Environmental Law:
Studied and read case studies and court cases pertaining to the most frequently referenced environmental regulations including: RCRA CERCLA, FIFRA, TSCA, Clean Air act, and Clean Water Act.
