I performed, on a rotation basis, on call support for the annuities application at Nationwide, resolving problems and/or issues that would
occur when our batch systems ran at night to ensure the systems were available by the time the online systems came up at 6am.

In the last eight years of my career, I worked with DB2, SQL, and XML to assist with mainframe and server interfacing for Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Automobile insurance systems. I was specifically asked, due to my work experience, knowledge of the Commercial Lines systems, diligence, and quality of work in the past to take on a new and exciting challenge by moving from the Commercial Lines unit to the newly-developing area called PARIS, which became the newly automated client-server / mainframe application utilizing DB2, JAVA, SQL, and COBOL. I was assigned to develop the Conversion Renewal automation for the back-end mainframe side i.e., development of all transactions for most Commercial Lines of business to be "converted" from the legacy systems to the new structure. Upon completion, I mentored and aided two co-workers in the remaining lines of business for the Conversion Renewal project - from the development phase into production.
ACHIEVEMENTS :
Received two Presidential team awards for the new development of the Commercial Lines and Personal Lines systems received "Exceeds Expectations" several times at my year-end reviews over the years, one of those awards being given for the work on the Conversion Renewal project for the Commercial Lines system received bonuses and many "Pride Pin" awards for quality, professionalism, teamwork, and determination in completing projects before or by very aggressive target dates and for on-call support duties of fixing production problems throughout the night so that our systems would be up and running for our customers in time for the next morning’s book of business. When Ohio Casualty Group was bought out by Liberty Mutual, I, as an OCG employee, had to train my Liberty Mutual replacements on my daily job duties, my units systems, projects in progress, SQL code / DB2 tables, program(s) logic, nightly production on-call support, etc. I was praised by my manager and the Liberty Mutual team members on my professional, thorough, and team-oriented attitude and pride I continued to possess although my job had been displaced. I have the ability to handle a heavy workload, multi-task and complete projects on time and according to specifications.
