Note: To put things short my current organization is at infant stage when I joined. We accepted most of the opportunities and problems which came to us. I had hands on experience on small and smart projects than very big projects in current firm. I worked on larger scale of projects in my earlier firms.

Worked in Nadig consulting Pvt Ltd (presently Mahimtura consultants Pvt. Ltd.) from Sept 2009 to Jan 2011 . I handled these projects almost individually.

1. Project: BOSCH Factory in Ahmedabad. Client: BOSCH Rexroth

Architect: Venkatraman Associates

Project Description: I handled mainly the Factory part of the whole project. The Factory part consists of Steel Truss. The Truss is supported @ 18 mts equal spans. Since the span between trusses is 12 mts we considered secondary truss (Lattice Girder)so as to split the span of the purlin. (This schematic arrangement is already frozen by design association before i am involved in the project ).The purlin size is ISMC 200. The Truss and Lattice Girder consists of C.H.S. R.C Columns are used to support the truss. The main challenge of this job is services. Ducts are provided by suspenders/clamps which are hanged from the purlin of the members.

2. Project: Hero Honda Showroom Client: Bhagat Motors (Mr.Yeddyrappa)

Architect: Design Studio

Project Description: Its a G+5 Building built @ Outer Ring Ring road. The Project consists of complex girders acting as steel joists. Deck slab is used for the slab system. All the members are connected using welded connections. The columns are steel ISMB beams. The model is analyzed using STAAD software.

Worked in Chetana Consultants Pvt Ltd from Jan 2008 to Aug 2009. Designed residential projects.

1. Project: Marigold Properties ` Client: Kumar Properties

Architect: RSP Engineers and Planners Pvt Ltd

Project Description: Apartment project of G+25 Floors with 5 towers. Shear wall is used for Lateral load distribution system. The main challenge is to achieve 200 mm thick columns/walls.

Truss is used in the Mock up Apartment.

The truss consists I.S.Angles of Fe250 Grade. The span of the Truss is 16 metres. The whole Truss is supported on C.H.S of 200 dia Medium Bore. Base of the foundation is provided by concrete footing fitted with Baseplate stiffener plates. Zinc coated GA sheets are provided for the roofing.44

Role: Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Freezing final Architectural drawings with final sizes of beams and columns.

2. Analyzing the structure by STAAD software.

3. Designed the Raft foundation, Shear wall, columns, beams, retaining wall, Staircase etc manually using the STAAD analysis results.

4. Releasing the drawings and to check the detailing in the site.

Project Description: Apartment project of G+25 Floors 4 towers.

Role: Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

Project Description: Typical Flat Slab Framing System which is G+3.

The model is analysed using Staad Software. The slab is designed for 1 Tons/Sq.m Loading because Stacks. Detailing is done as per SP34 Code.

3. Office Building for Brigade Developers in Cochin Client: Brigade Architect:RSP Planners and Architects

Project Description: Typical Flat Slab Framing System which is G+12 Floors. The grid system is 10.8x10.8. Shear walls are used for lateral load distributions system at the corners of the building. The model is analyzed using Staad Software. Loading class is 0.4 Tons/Sq.m. Detailing is done as per SP34 Code.

For foundations End bearing piles is used. The dia of the piles are 600,800,1000. 2 pile, 3 pile,4 pile,6 piles,8 pile groups are formed to distribute the loads to the piles.. For Shear walls the pile group consists of 48 (i.e 6x8) piles. We used General Beam Theory to design Pile caps.

4. DG Room for Brigate Gateway

Project Description: Machine Foundations are used to support the DG. The weight of the DG set is 6 Tons. The modulus of Subgrade reaction is used as the Support Condition. The depth of the foundation is 800 mm. The Foundation is checked for IS2974 I.S for Machine Foundations.

5. Crane Gantry Girder for KPCL (Outsourced to us by Govt Authority)

Project Description:The crane gantry girder is designed for 15 Tons. The plate girder is subjected to 2 point loads of 15 Tons. Corbel is also designed to distribute the load on to the column.

General:

«All the water storage works i.e OHT and UG Sump, F.W.T will be designed using IS. 3370 Codes. Coefficients which are provided in IS.3370 Code Part 4 are used and Working Stress method is used for design.

«Ductile detailing is followed for all Projects which comes under Zone 3 and higher.

«Flat slabs are analysed using Staad software or E.Tabs Software depending on the requirements.

«All pile caps are analyzed using Excel sheets and some piles that are large are analyzed using Manual calculation.

«I designed Coffer slabs upto spans of 26 mts x28 mts for Cancer Hospital i.e @ Entrance Reception. It is designed using both staad modeling and as per Plate theory provided in Varghese and Krishnam Raju Books.

«In certain cases of my projects I adopted deck slab system i.e Using ISMB’s and providing Decking sheets and pouring concrete with Nominal Reinforcement.

Worked with Mr. Ashok Rao from June 2004 to Dec 2007. Designed various projects starting from commercial to Residential buildings in Bangalore, Mysore, and Kerala. Developed and reviewed design concepts. Scope of work included 3 dimensional modeling, code driven design calculations, assisting draftsman in drafting the details, checking the drawings, attending site meetings and fabrication checking.
