Position: Laptop Computer Account Manager – BU1
Managed one of the major key accounts in Compal contributes $3.751 billion revenue, in term of 9,616k units Notebooks per year. Led cross departmental teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacture, Technical Service, Finance, Legal) end-to-end business operation. o Led early RFQ engagement from SPEC discussion, cost analysis, pricing strategy and terms/conditions negotiation to fulfill customer’s requirement and gain the company best interest. Won at least 12 projects every year from the RFQ participation. o Aggressively promoted new models and designs of consumer, commercial, 2 in 1 and ultra slim laptop computer to influence customer product roadmap planning and strengthen the portfolio gap.
o Maximized tooling utilization and product life extension in a result of sharing 45% out of customer’s total shipping quantity since 2012 and reduced the 30% tooling quantity. o Collaborated with engineering team to offer innovative and cost-efficient design, and monitor material BOM cost, NRE impact from design change request.
Established competitors (ODMs) Alliance of Electronic Manufacture Service at Brazil. o Represented Compal to negotiate Purchasing and None-Disclosure Contract/Agreement with brand name customer and Quanta, Wistron, Pegatron as the parts vendors. o Gaining extra 21% margin for accountable account in the very first fiscal year of cross ODMs EMS projects go life.
o Led cross function teams successfully transfer competitor’s models and production process to Brazil in 5 months by aggressively driven closure both NPI, MP CKD/ SKD logistic, intellectual license, quality, local buy tax related issues and so on so forth.
Developed business strategy focused on company’s commercial priorities by analysis market trend, shipping quantity and margin data.
Led Account business operation by coordinate Manufacture, Quality, Procurement, Supply Planning, and Finance team to achieve monthly shipment target. o Led on manufacture capacity planning for mass production models and incoming NPI projects. In addition, led Procurement and Production Control departments on overall tooling fixture control to fulfill the forecast.
o Managed vendors’ supply allocation to maximize production acceptance and mitigate parts shortage impact on production projects. Reviewed new material ramping status on site at supplier production factory to ensure NPI project launch on time. Close monitor both short-term and long-term transition plan on material EOL and obsolete target date. o Monitored sole source risk and collaborated with Sourcing and Key Component team to implement stable and cost efficient vendors through commercial tactic. o Led Quality, Service and Production Engineer team to execute worldwide quality issue recover plan then prevent 15.4k units ($18.4 million USD) high end model from global call back.
