Senior Solutions Engineer / Architect
Generate systems requirement documents and perform architectural design and configuration of infrastructure solutions from Cisco, Dell, HP, IBM, Lenovo, EMC, Nutanix, and more, as well as EMR (Enterprise Medical Records), Databases (Oracle, SQL and OpenSource), Data Encryption, Backup/Recovery and more, which includes enterprise servers, converged, Intel rack servers, storage (SAN, iSCSI & NAS) and tape. Architect Data Center refreshes to provide cloud agility with proprietary/open source solutions.
As lead architect, led RFP by State of Hawaii leading to ~$3M contract for consolidation of IT infrastructure, centralization of backups across state, Disaster Recovery (~80 servers, ~520TB) and Cloud (hybird).
oAddressed cloud initiative for Windows/Linux environment, upgraded backup/recovery software, refreshed servers for state tax application and addressed DR and data encryption requirements.
Managed & performed TCA/TCO analysis for 60+ clients, generating $15M annual revenue for Sirius and average client savings of ~$400K (up to ~$1.3M in one case), with core count reductions up to 83% (from 362 cores to 60).
oCreated TCO analysis tools to provide faster analysis and highlight cost differences between databases.
Assisted various clients with their storage requirements to provide sub millisecond response times and to meet their Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery needs working with various storage architectures. As well assisted in the design to help comply with their governance and compliance strategy.
