Primary responsibilities

Recently delivered IT infrastructure for a 3300 seat new permanent Netapp Campus facility. Covering various technologies, Data Center design, Tier I Network, Network Security, Unified communication, VMWare, Windows, Collaboration, Storage, Data . Managing a budget of USD 11 M for Active components and USD 10 M for passive components. Also building required IT compliance into the model. Enabled new technologies like IP lighting and other new building automation solutions. Extensive project planning and tracking involving 1200 tasks and and 24,000 man hours.

Maintained partnership status as an “IT Ambassador”, providing face-to-face, real time site intervention and single-point-of-service business partnership for all local client-base including Engineering, Sales, Service, and G&A functions.

High-level working partnerships with corporate and regional IT leadership and management teams, working cross-functionally at all levels of the organization. Promote Bangalore site as a critical NetApp IT location, demands, impacts, and identify/communicate trends that materially impact decisions made by CIO or the company.

By liaising and complying with all IT compliance requirements arising from the site. Ensure TRAI, DOT requirements arising from the Call Center setup. Responsible for IT in the Compliance Review meetings and audits for the site. Coordination of IT projects, provide the site control and oversight services for global and local projects, related to infrastructure and applications functions. Continuously promote IT scalability, reliability and ensure BCP for all groups including 24x7 onsite teams.

Adoption of newer technology – Virtualization and Cloud adoption and support across AWS, AZURE etc. Hybrid cloud adoption for various SAAS applications.

Key role in building the 24/7 support center for all Infrastructure service towers, Network, Storage, Security, Windows, Telecom. Team of Engineers across levels L2, L3, shift leads, Shift managers based out of Bangalore. Transition roles and processes.

Work closely with our MSP partners, TCS for helpdesk L1 and also with UST global who is our preferred vendor for IT services.

Provided Local IT Staff Leadership demands in the below areas:

Mentoring and providing inspirational leadership, management and supervision to all IT resources based in Bangalore across IT functions to the large team of 100+ employees.

Liased and Provided MSP’s and other third party resources as appropriate for defined projects and initiatives for global projects.

Held regular NB IT all-hands meetings and ensured professional, consistent, frequent and effective staff communication on key IT priorities/initiatives and other group activities.

Promoted inter-team job opportunities, job rotations and other short-term opportunities to facilitate build and retain a healthy talent pool.

Acted and provided consultancy and advisory role in the understanding of India HR employment rules and policies to the global IT community.

Assisted as directed in personnel focal review processes managed by “resource owners” of dotted-line resources.

Provided Local support for the GPTW program and helped the company move to the current Ranked 7th in the year 2017. Netapp has enjoyed being in the top 10 for several years and the business is very serious about this ranking.

NetApp-On-NetApp : Address Netapp on Netapp requirements from Engineering. Comply with all EBC requests from our sales organization. Closely worked with Engineering and Sales and Marketing for this initiative to facilitate customer presentations.

Responsible for providing IT services for a critical Engineering 2000 employee site in Bangalore and Remote sites at Delhi & Mumbai.

Planned and built new site for 2200 users, Designed Networking, WAN, Datacenter, IDF and communication room. Including design of a new Datacenter for the Bangalore region. Managed Data center with installed base of, Netapp and IBM Servers running mission critical applications, Data storage app excess of 10 Terra bytes in Raid configurations in a 24/7 R&D environment. Capacity management of the Datacenter servers and services.

Have built various IT teams from hiring to Go-live. Setup a Build team consisting of 5 people to build servers across Global Netapp Datacenters. This team was trained and ramped up quickly and they are highly successful in delivering. Started Recovery Team, a 24x7 team of 5 people to support P1 and P2 incidents for the company. Have ensured high Hiring standards in all these endeavors.

Played a key role in company integration - LSI Engenio. A buyout with 220 employees and a new office space at Bangalore location. Effort includes domain and other services migration, lab integration and connecting 2 buildings and integrating users and asset take over and management.

Maintained high level of partnership with local WPR team, HR team, Engineering IT team to deliver world class service to the Engineering community and site productivity.

Communicated and engaged with business community to manage the IT road map delivery and Value Perception.

Started the Global Service Desk, Network Support team and telecom support for Asia Pac in addition to setting up the local Service Desk Team. Setup NOC a 24x7 Global Helpdesk Center to support SVL helpdesk tickets and transitioned the same. This included the monitoring team.

Responsible for presenting statistics on productivity, improvements and innovation in IT services periodically to the site business and leadership community.

Track and analyze daily/monthly/quarterly IT services and site capacity metrics to ensure highly productive work environment.

Fiber ISP circuits running ISP VPN Tunnels for WAN connectivity. MPLS technology. Collabnet Infrastructure supporting multiple vendor access connections to the Bangalore HUB. VPN Concentrators for remote Access. LAN using Cisco 7609 as the core switches and 6509 for distribution and Wireless access. Security system for LAN and WAN including Mcafee Gateways, Juniper Fire Wall, IDPs. 100% LAN and WAN availability for the last year.
