CubeSat Mission was a Program in which students from many disciplines work together to provide

small payloads access to space. A CubeSat is a micro satellite (U-Class) type of miniaturized

satellite for space research that is made up of multiples of 101010 cm cubic units. Spacecraft

with a volume of one liter and as part of this project, m y key responsibility along with one partner,

was the to Develop, Design & Analysis a Thermal Protective model capable of withstanding outer

space extreme conditions by applying the Laws of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, using

calculations, CAD simulations on SolidWorks and Ansys on the development process. Once the

Thermal distribution Mapping and heat transfer for the model were identified and characterized

identified, engineering concepts such as mechanical structure, thermodynamics and heat transfer

were applied to validate the design and the physical Thermal Protective Hardware, such as Multi-

Layer Insulators (MLI).
