Resume:

Dear Hiring Committee:

Hi, my name is Xingyang and I am applying for Process Technician position listed on your company website.

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. I have taken several material science courses on the side. I am familiar with basic chemical processes, chemical transport, semiconductor properties and microfabrication processes. I view myself as an independent worker; I enjoy working for long hours to tackle barrier at work.

Currently, I am working at a BioMarin pharmaceutical, a company dedicated to orphan drug development and manufacturing. My team operates in a clinical trial facility that produces rAvPAL, a therapeutic treatment for Phenylketonuria disease. We strictly follow SOP and GMP requirement; we operate in grade C and D clean rooms; use LIMS, EBS, CMMS and report to supervisor. After working for six months, I can independently and efficiently carry out required tasks.

During my college study, I worked in the laboratory of Wolf Prize winner Professor Alexander Pines on developing a technology to increase the sensitivity of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). We are building a device to produce so-called hyperpolarized molecules which have NMR signals orders of magnitude higher than conventional, thermally polarized samples. I have built an integrated reactor that uses parahydrogen to produce hyperpolarized contrast agents via SABRE (Signal Amplification By Reversible Exchange) technique. I programmed Arduino kit to automatically operate solenoid valves which control the flow of gases and liquids. I always take delight in looking for and solving problems. Last summer, I researched in Johns Hopkins University with Professor Chao Wang at Chaos’ Energy lab. We investigated the effect of temperature and pH have on the dephosphorylation rate of cerium oxide zeolite. At the end of my research period, I helped my supervisor to write a paper that was later published at ACS Catalysis. All of these experiences show I am a responsible worker and down-to-earth. I never let any detail slip under my eyes. And I am always willing to work extra hours to see things through. I improved SOP for running p-hydrogen in our lab. I also enjoy solving challenging problems and improving on existing standard. In my spare time, I served as tour guide and translation for Chinese delegation groups from high ranking officials. Two years of experience gives me great leadership and interpersonal skill.

My background in designing, automation, manufacturing and programming skill would be of help to your company. I have always value hard-work and perseverance. I look forward to work in a fast-paced fast-growing company where I can see my contribution paid off. Thanks again for your time in considering me.

Best regards,

James
