NUST Network Performance Optimization (NOCS):

Wireless Network was studied as per and gap analyses generated as per best practices of industry. Performance of network was evaluated according to TFC-2544 and necessary changes made. The performance was improved after this exercise.

Hayatabad Safe City Project (HSCP):

Proposal submitted for Hayatabad town aligning with the smart city solution.

Surveyed for the Video Surveillance requirements and Smart CCTV solution is proposed based on Samsung Fixed and PTZ day and night cameras. For video analyses, industry’s leading Video Management Solution of Milestone has been proposed.

PTCL – EWSD integration with NOC

Siemens NetManager restored and all switches integrated with the NetManager

Alarms and configuration management activated with centralized NMS.

NetManager SLA defined for critical, Major and Minor fault and support agreement (24*7*365) for 1 year signed.

RE’s hired and deputed at client premise and SOP defined in handling all level of faults and communication Matrix defined.

Engaged in T-Mobile Universe 2.0 Program addressing BSS Transformation of both Pre / Post-Paid Customer base.

Key Achievements:

Software Development:

Involved in the development of Bridging, a Key Application in Ericsson Stack. Essentially is a culmination of TIBCO (BW, EMS, Active Spaces, Administrator), Oracle DB with a team of Software Architect, Tibco Developer’s / integrator and Java developer using SDLC approach. Integrated Bridging with all the other application’s. Managed to deliver key features like Automatic Replication using Veridata for the Bridging Databases b/w the Data centers, Reconciliation with the Customer Database to ensure that all the changes are updated.

Managed Services:

E2E IT Infrastructure

-Deployed and maintained IT infrastructure.

-Standardized the process for Operational activities and finalize MOP template’s along with acceptance criteria.

-Presented the activities in CAB meeting for the assessment, prioritization and scheduling of changes.

-Storage requirement of each application was validated with the SME’s and solution implemented and tested.

Lead MS team in building infrastructure aligning with the requirements for Ericsson application stack ranging from Mediation, CRM, OM, ON, PC, Provisioning, Middleware, Hawkeye (analytics), Vertex (taxation) both in Production and Lab with a build out of 1200 servers ensuring both vertical and Horizontal scalability.

-DevOps - infrastructure build for DevOps (App Orbit) to build environments with CI/CD model with E2E testing to ensure any requirements get into Production with minimum timeframe.

-OS / Patch Upgrade - Coordinated with Release management, Change management and completed OS and patch level upgrade in coordination with customer and internal stakeholders for both Lab and production infrastructure.

-Non- Functional Requirement - Prepared MOP’s with the assistance of Solution team and implemented HA, Geo –redundancy, Active / Active solution for several Application highlighting the gaps in coordination with Operation. Issued Defects using HP ALM tool and tracking defects to kick off the development efforts.

-Mimon to ARP Monitoring - Successfully completed in 8 Maintenance windows using Puppet Enterprise across Data centers comprising 1200 servers consisting of Physical serves, Blades, VMware, KVM to ensure switchover to redundant connection while ARP reply is not received.

-Dell EMC to HPE 3PAR Migration - Migrated 230 Application / Database server from EMC to 3PAR to save support cost of 2.0 M USD. POC was completed earlier to benchmark the timelines to have minimum impact on the day to day operational activities.

-Data Center Audit - Performed Audit with Infra SA and T-Mobile Data center teams to ensure adequate Space and Power and availability of Switch ports for future expansion resulted in proposing relocation of several Application servers to ensure the future demand is met on a short notice.

-Sizing exercise executed across the Application’s to ensure that the Infrastructure (Server dimensioning, Memory, Storage) is in place to support Pre-Paid launch.

Manager Network Operations (Jan 2015 – Nov 2015)

-Worked with operations in finalizing the requirements for the new NOC to provide services to Crown Castle, a leading wireless Access network provider to Telecom operators.

-Gathered and analyzed "Network Management System" features and reporting requirements from the internal and external customers.

-Based on the customer requirements, researched NOC network management software providers and made recommendation for most suitable "NMS" solutions for the new NOC.

Project Manager Network Implementation. (Core & Services) (Feb 2009 – Aug 2014)

Key Achievements:

Network Transformation Program, CAD 45 Million, 2010 - 2012

Transformation of Voice core network with reduction of core nodes from 56 to 11. Project had payback period of 2 years in OPEX savings. Planned and executed more than 400 migration activities with zero downtime.

VoLTE Program (Voice over LTE) – CAD 45 Million, 2012 - 2014

Managed program from concept to completion (E2E), being complex in nature involved 30 plus projects kicked off with vendors lie Ericsson, Comverse, HP, Netnumber and Juniper.

-Worked with 150 internal / external (PM’s, SA, SI, TAC, NOC Primes and Contractors) resources).

-Deployed IMS VoLTE architecture to support VoLTE

-Aligned both network deliverables with IT for a smooth QA, UAT in development and BRT in production env.

-Worked with SME on Non-Functional / Functional ATP documents & conduct them. Monitor the results & coordinate the implementation of fixes.

-Worked with Release Management and Change management in SW upgrade of Existing NE’s.

Program: LTE Data Roaming – First North American Operator to Launch LTE Data Roaming

Duration: 1 Year

-Deployed Oracle (Tekelec) based DEA, Juniper MX480 Peering routers and SRX 3600 series firewalls.

-Coordinating and testing with operators like HK, CM and ATT for the Launch.

-Upgrading the 100 MB IPX / GRX link capacity for BICS / Syniverse to 1 GigE in addition to installation of the new peering routers to facilitate the growth of roaming traffic.

Program: LTE – First Canadian Operator to Launch LTE

Budget: CAD 50 Million, 2010 - 2011

-Phase 1. Successful completion of LTE Trial in Dec 2010

-Phase 2. Launch of LTE Network in Ottawa in July 2011 with the readiness of 80 eNodeB.

-Phase 3. Nationwide launch in Sep 2011 with 03 main markets of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, a total of 65 Nodes into network with Zero downtime covering a customer base of 5.5 million.

M2M related initiative from design, implementation and testing of the APN’s, keeping in view the tight timelines of these initiatives and business requirements. For corporate customer.

-Successfully implemented using BMC remedy, APN Build Process to standardize APN build in minimum timeframe, trimming down the E2E timeframe from 60 to 25 days.

Nationwide Hardware / Software Roll out of Juniper – MX960 based routers including WAN (MPLS based) re-architecture (Identified single point of failures in coordination with the Transport TAC, established redundant path to ensure that the network is capable of handling any catastrophic condition).
