Projects

Designing a MATLAB Code

Studied varying pore distribution in a membrane nanofilter and its effects on the filtration effects from different research papers.

Designed a MATLAB solution to understand the structural distribution of pore diameters through the thickness of a specific membrane.

Effects of Nanocomposites on PVA

Investigated the effect of various nanocomposites when added to Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) and measured the change of mechanical and electrical properties of PVA films of various thicknesses.

Synthesized and characterized the nanocomposites (TiO2 and ZnO). The mechanical and optical properties of PVA films of varying thicknesses were studied using electron microscope and NMR and a comparative study was also made with PVA films mixed with either of the nanoparticles.

Catalytic Degradation of Polymers to Hydrocarbons

Produced hydrocarbons from catalytic degradation of waste plastic using natural Bentonite aiming at converting plastic into fuel range hydrocarbons with calorific value in the range of Diesel.

A batch process was used for the degradation and a bomb calorimeter, XRD and FTIR analysis was done on the hydrocarbons obtained.
