Dear Sir/ Madam:
I am interested in the position as a Nurse Practitioner at your institution. I am presently working as a per diem Registered Nurse at Maplewood Nursing Home and Privatus Care Solutions and have found the experience fulfilling. Working as case manager gives me an opportunity to spend time with my patients. I also collaborated with members of the health care team involved in the patients’ care. I assessed, planned, evaluated, and advocated for options and services to meet the health needs of the patients in my care.
I have obtained a Master of Science Degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University, Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science degree in General Agriculture Science from the University of the West Indies and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I also pursued an Associate of Science degree from the College of Agriculture Science and Education, where I was trained to teach General Science and Mathematics. I taught Mathematics and Science at the high school and middle school level for 15 years. Prior to attending Cape Cod Community College, I worked as Math Teacher at Barnstable Middle School. I then went on to pursue studies in nursing at Cape Cod Community College. After graduating from Cape Cod Community College, I worked as a Registered Nurse at Eagle Pond Nursing Home. As a teacher and a nurse, I have gained excellent communication and teamwork skills.
As a result of my excellent academic standing, I was selected to receive the Edith E. McLane Nursing Scholarship, which helped me in fulfilling my dream to become a nurse. I graduated as member of the Honors Society of Walden University. I have not only excelled academically, but I always try to be the best at what I do. I am an enthusiastic learner, trainable, meticulous, hardworking and highly organized. I can assure you these characteristics I possess will be reflected in my work and will make me an asset to your institution.
Thank you for taking the time to review my credentials. I am looking forward to hearing from you to schedule an interview. I may be reached at 347-***-****.
Sincerely,
Gloria Barnett-Duncan
