Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), the National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72), and the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101).

Help to develop specifications for use in bid packages and develop working drawings.

Strong knowledge of the design and construction of power projects/ substations/ transformers with RMU/generators with ATS /switch gears /distribution system/single line and three line diagrams, electrical interconnect drawings, and structural / electrical details as well as familiarity with NESC (National Electric Safety Code)/ NEC (National Electric Code).

JOB SUMMARY

Carries out the design, specification and implementation of all new Projects, tender documents, bill of quantity, alteration and development projects.

Actively supervises and control assistant engineers/supervisors.

Ensures that all operations and maintenance services are carried out within the hospital and associated properties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To carry out all necessary professional services independently and fully responsible to manage, design,execution, perform-planning(O&M-program), preparation of tender document, construction & review-design, specifications, BOQ .

To attend regular meetings (on work progress, coordination, design, etc) with contractors to discuss key issues related to the projects and take effective corrective actions.

To Monitor project budgets and schedule and oversee performance to ensure on time, quality and on budget project execution.

To ensure all technical aspects of the projects are strictly complied with and in conformity with conditions of contract, particular-specifications, general-specification, contract drawing & BOQ.

To ensure that the health and safety requirements are provided and they comply with authorities regulations

To ensure proper standard of safety with regard to all aspects of electrical work.

To supervises and controls assistant engineers, supervisors and provides guidance, managerial, technical support to complete project team.

To analyse drawing, specifications and statements of work in the preparation of activity networks for projects resource planning and scheduling.

Ensure program policies and procedures are implemented accordingly.

Develop action and recovery plans to support program delivery on time.

Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues

Check electrical and hydraulic systems of hospital buildings to ensure functionality

Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities

Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff

Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary

Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance

Manage relationships with contractors and service providers

Ensure health and safety policies are complied with

Control new project work as allocated

Project planning, design, construction & management to the project schedule keeping in view the contractual milestones based on project specification and standards.

Review of engineering design in coordination with design consultant and further submission to client for approval.

Responsible for review design and BOQ

Coordination with other engineering disciplines to ensure timely completion of projects with budget on schedule.

To prepare departmental policies

To Participate in TQM systems control, system improvement & staff development activities.

To perform other duties & tasks within the realm of my knowledge & ability as required.
