Network Engineer (Data Center Engineer)

NTT America - Westmont, IL - October 2017 to Present

upgrading data centers infrastructure all over the United states to the latest and greatest, by adding the newest generation link cards (tomahawk) and upgrading chassis to ASR 9922, 9010 and 9006, Line cards (Trident, Typhoon, and Tomahawk) upgrading core to the latest Juniper Core Routers and DWDM equipment.

upgrading the out of band system on 32 sites all over the United states, by installing the new equipment, move lines to the new system, decom the old system and then trouble shoot the connections to make sure everything is up and reachable, (Cisco ISR 4331 with Async modules, Juniper Junos EX2300).

My daily duties also included

Installs, removes, and replaces patch cables (fiber, Ethernet, etc.), measuring signal level, cleaning connector if needed per specified procedures

Troubleshoot hardware and cabling problem.

Coordinates, instructs, and oversees third-party access and work at POPs

Coordinates with third-part warehousing and sparing; prepares and tracks shipments, including shipments for install, de-install, replace, RMA in regular and urgent situations

Documents installs and changes, updates to web portal, updates hardware and cross-connect database

Take full responsibility to map all the data centers on Microsoft VISIO drawings.

Wireless Engineer
