Duties

●Help weld metal components together to fabricate and repair products.

●Assist in welding metal parts together.

●Clean and maintain work area.

●Clean construction site to eliminate possible hazards.

●Assist boilermaker in assembly and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and vats in field.

●Gather tools and materials needed for the day located and marked reference points for columns and plates on foundation, using master straightedge, squares, transit and measuring tape and applying knowledge of geometry.

●Assist in hammering, flame-cutting, filing, and grinding irregular edges of sections and structural parts to facilitate fitting edges together.

●Assist in repairing boilers and tanks in field by unbolting or flame cutting defective sections and tubes, straightening plates, installing new tubes, fitting and welding new sections and replacing worn lugs on bolts.
