I retired from teaching in June of 2016 and am seeking summer employment. I have been substitute teaching for two years for Denton ISD. I have taught English, ESL, and Social Studies at Travis for 25 years. I am certified in ESL, English, History, and Reading. I have also taught English 1- 4 at summer school for 12 summers and four semesters of night school. For the last two summers I have taught English remediation and writing for students who failed the STAAR Test. I was named Teacher of the Year at Travis Middle School and Teacher of the Month for Irving ISD. As head of the ESL Department, I managed input of data, testing, and organization of files for all immigrant students. Prior to teaching, I installed steel shelving, school lockers, storage cabinets, and warehouse pallet racks and conveyor systems. I also worked in interior landscaping in offices and hotels all over Las Colinas in Irving, Texas. I also worked in several warehouses as a stocker, shipper/receiver, and packer.
