Central Printing is a full-service print shop and was the sole provider of FAA regulated flight publications for FedEx. Central Printing implemented a project to print and distribute navigation kits containing paper charts to airlines, including FedEx, per FAA requirements.

Director of Technology position supported the LIDO navigation chart project in all aspects of IT, including basic desktop support, server and network design and support, inventory/distribution software development, quality assurance software development.

Responsibilities included:

Defined project requirements for chart production, Q/A, along with the timely worldwide distribution within a strict and limited budget.

Designed expanded digital print facility, network and computer systems.

Ongoing project responsibilities included:

Extensive communication with vendors and clients, establishing and refining processes procedures needed for POC and go live phase.

Managed concurrent software development projects designed to increase efficiencies and accuracy for all aspects of project production and distribution logistics.

Worked closely with software developers to build custom software tools and a comprehensive system to track internal production, distribution of navigation kits and location of inventories throughout the world. Required close analysis of unique business processes and following stringent constraints for time and accuracy.

Project deliverables over 8 years included:

40 million enroute charts printed

5 million RFC charts were printed

91260 kits were delivered

600 million charts were error checked using our unique LEP checking system

1,700,000 flights used our system
