Clinical Experience

Common diseases managed at this clinic are hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic back pain, asthma, COPD, and obesity. Well woman exams, including pap smears and vaginal examinations were also performed at this clinic.
Gomez-Vasquez Family Practice – able to assess, diagnose, evaluate and manage acute and chronic illnesses occurring in persons across the lifespan. Common diseases managed at this practice are Diabetes Type 2, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Hypothyroidism, Anxiety, Depression, Migraine Headaches and Chronic back pain.
Laredo Pediatrics – able to assess, diagnose, evaluate and manage acute illness occurring in the pediatric population. Able to perform full physical assessments for children of all ages. Able to perform sport and school required physicals.

Responsible for direct patient care. Duties include starting intravenous lines, foley catheters and nasal gastric tubes. Familiar with assisting doctors with rapid intubation, central line placement and chest tube placement. Able to assist nurses with setup/recovery of post-op open heart surgical patients. Familiar with critical care machines including ventilators and bipap machines, and intra-aortic balloon pumping. Able to initiate and titrate critical care medications.

Responsibilities and duties are the same as above. At Doctor Hospital of Laredo, was an active member of the infection control team. Tasks include daily rounding and observations of nurse to patient interactions in efforts to prevent spread of infectious disease.
