(Hot Rolling Mill) Plate Mill

Essar Steel Ltd. is a fully integrated flat carbon steel manufacturer from iron ore to ready-to-market products with a current capacity of 10 million tons per annum (MTPA). Roles and Responsibilities

Presently, I am working as a Junior trainee Engineer Hot Rolling Mill Mechanical Maintenance Department. (Plate Mill Plant)

I am looking after Mechanical maintenance of all the Mechanical equipments includes four high reversible Roughing / finishing Mill Equipment.

Preventive Maintenance of Four high reversible rolling mill, leveler, Primary descaler, Mill descaler and roller table.

Planning & Changing of major Rolling Mill equipments like Mill spindles, Feed roller cassettes, HGC cylinders, Spindle, Mill Screw down thrust bearing, Stripper guide, Cylinders including (Mill Side guides, Pass line adjusting cylinders, Spindle balance cylinders & Mill Auxiliary cylinders.)

Repair of Hyd. Cylinders including seal changing & Assly.( Spare readiness )

Attending of Break-down for major equipments of rolling mill.

On sight modification of the equipments to enhance the productivity & quality of the product.

Making all the work instruction (SOP) for changing & repair of equipment safely & as per preventive maintenance schedule to make it available as per operation plan.

Working with SAP for making notification, maintenance report, shutdown activities, and daily work report.

Work Permit system, attending a breakdown with Safety and taken a Cold work / Hot Work permit. When required an Electrical LOTO (Lock out and Tag Out) permit. Identified a HIRAC (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment carried out). Having a core knowledge on the standard of ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS.
