Cover Letter
I am an International student from Ukraine. Born in Germany, I moved to the Ukraine at the age of 5. When I was 9 years old I started the sport of synchronized swimming. I am a multi- medalist in synchronized swimming back in Ukraine. Also named to USA Synchronized Swimming All-American Collegiate Athletic Team.
Three years ago, at the age of 19, I left behind my home in the Ukraine and travelled to the United States in pursuit of an education and an athletic scholarship. I had to leave my family and friends for the opportunity of studying at a higher level. I came to America with big goals and a passion for technology.
Technology is something I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember, so it wasn’t a difficult decision to study Management Information Systems at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Even this wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to challenge myself by adding Computer Information Systems as a minor. I simply cannot get enough of learning about technology, and will never get tired of this.
I’m often asked why I chose this subject and the answer is simple – technology has never failed to amaze me. Fortunately, I have been in the right generation to be able to keep up and observe the impact that it has on the world.
For me, the most attractive aspect of technology is problem solving. Problem solving is a challenge I have always loved – from completing puzzles at home, to taking programming classes at university.
The potential of where we could be in terms of technology in 50 years time fascinates me, and it’s exciting to know that being involved in technology allows me to take my career in any direction. I'm passionate about making a difference. When I'm involved with a project at work, I want to do my best to achieve success and eventually I want to change the world for the better.
As long as you have the passion to work hard, push yourself and not let anything get in your way, I believe that you will be successful.
My purpose is to change the world.
“The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs. This is my inspiration.
