WORK EXPERIENCE
Manufacturing and Operations - Intern
Promaxima Manufacturing, Texas Feb’18-May’18
• Provided guidance to Engineering and Design team in the preparation of production drawings and application of engineering specifications to assist in developing and implementing engineering changes
• Created drawings and assemblies using solidworks and CAD, also create detailed drawings, exploded views for sub-assemblies.
• Updated the old drawings to current standards and by verifying assemblies can be built from the model using the equipment.
• Created BOMs and inputted the data into ERP system.
• Lead the engineering team to provide geometric drawing and tolerancing inputs for the existing component drawings. Engineering graphics -Teaching Assistant
University of Houston, Texas Sep’17 – Jan’18
• Assisted the professors in instructing undergraduates in solidworks.
• Planned and implemented lab core curriculum and instructive programs for students.
• Assisted the professors with classroom instructions, course plans, exams. Proctor examinations and record grades.
• Assisted and evaluated the students in selection and designing of their models for their term projects Manufacturing and Operations intern
Promaxima Manufacturing, Texas May’17-Aug’17
• Assisted in the design and maintenance of automated production systems by company ERP system to enter and maintain BOMs
• Held responsible for generating parts lists, requisitions and other ERP records necessary to convert design information into system demands.
• Converted project information (e.g. specifications, general sales order information, data sheets, etc.) into drawings and other documentation that manufacturing then uses to produce a product.
• Provided guidance to Engineering Services team for conducting regular audits of bill of material to verify accuracy. Student Intern
Hyundai, Hyderabad, India Dec’15 – Mar’16
• Analyzed data to perform root cause analysis by generating control charts through Minitab and countermeasure improvements.
• Identified bottlenecks by mapping the current state and inefficiencies in production process, and implemented alternative solutions as they relate to cost, quality and production requirements.
• Determined root causes of failures using statistical methods/ value stream mapping and recommended changes in designs, tolerances, production as necessary by mapping the future state process.
• Lead projects designed to reduce waste and improve process capability and quality. Student Intern
Sun Diesel Workshop, Hyderabad, India Dec’13 – Mar’14
• Developed alternative processes and tooling required to achieve quality and productivity goals by developing DFMEA/ PFMEA.
• Increased OEE by applying lean principles such as standard work, poke-yoke, visual management into daily operations.
• Conducted quality process training by process control charts, gauging techniques, inspection methods, standards, gage R&R.
• Managed and conducted internal audits to assure process control, adequacy of procedures, and effectiveness. ACADEMIC PROJECTS
University of Houston, Texas
Advanced linear optimization Aug’16-Dec’16
• Optimizing the transportation facility problem using the GAMS and networking. Analysis of wheel alignment by statistical process and control Jan’17-May’17
• Finding and reducing assignable causes in wheel alignment for trucks and any change in trends using Minitab software. Production cycle time improvement by lean six sigma methodology for a manufacturing facility Aug’17-Dec’17
• Applied DMAIC tools to concise the reduction in number of backorders to around 2% over three months durations and thereby reducing the loss generated by backorders to $10,000/month and a savings of 25,000/month. JNTU, Hyderabad, India
An Ergonomics Study for the Cockpit and Engine Mounting Using Different Materials for FSAE Race Car Sep’15-May’16
• Equipment would be designed and built to aid in the design of a formula SAE race car cockpit in consideration with ergonomics. The equipment incorporated adjustable cockpit dimensions that were adjusted accordingly for the test subjects comfort. A compilation of this data would be used to design a cockpit suitable for people within the range of 95th percentile male and 5th percentile female.
