Load reaction vessels with a mixture of elements in order to synthesize materials with tunable physical properties such as optical band gap.

Collected and analyzed data on an FTIR spectrometer, a GC with FID detection, a HPLC with UV-Vis detection, a NMR spectrometer, AA, and an UV-Vis spectrophotometer.

Prepared samples using standard micropipette technique.

Determined concentrations of unknown solutions using the method of standard additions and by using a calibration curve to back calculate concentrations.
