PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

CONTRACT ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER, 2009 – Present

Senior Principle Engineer, Contracted, Design and Services for industrial and institutional clients. Corrected

System operational problems and integration offsets. As a trouble shooter I am able to understand the full system operational standards, in view of wire and cable installation and termination. Having the knowledge of the technology in reference to CCTV, Access Systems, Fire and Halon suppression, Nurse Call, Prison systems- communications and body alarms and repeater Communication networks- Tone Encoded. I have the ability to design power networks with UPS and surge suppression. I have the background for design of solar and battery bank design with switch gear, load shed and lightening compression. Have experience in analog and digital systems, power conversion, and ground isolation methodologies. Extensive experience in design, development, and testing of complex electrical designs including technical documentation development. Hands-on test and troubleshooting, and formal documentation of the electrical design.

FREQUENCY ELECTRONICS, 2005 - 2009

Test Engineer

Worked with frequency standards, atomic clocks and temperature compensated oscillates. Designed ATE and fixtures for test. Designed temperature ovens for oscillator aging. Designed test fixtures for production PCB tests for indication of open wiring and reverse wiring. Interfaced with customers and test presentation to finalize inspection. Managed twenty-four technicians on multiple projects to completion.

ELECTRONIC DESIGN CONCEPT, 2000 - 2004

Senior Design Engineer

Designed a custom closed circuit television kit for applied applications; received a NASA number for government procurement. Designed sound systems for commercial applications; this included sound-activated security systems as well as adding FPGA-controlled speaker delay systems to eliminate microphone echoes in churches and other large spaces. Designed RF bugs and wiretap devices for covert government applications. Designed a river alert system with approval of Army Corp. of Engineers. The system was set up on the Delaware River in Philadelphia. It was designed to prevent small craft from leaving their yacht basins and entering the river when a large vessel was passing through. A detection system alarms when inbound or outbound vessel is present. The alarm activates all traffic lights in each yacht basin - red light and green light for stop and go, and a yellow light for small craft warning. Designed and installed integrated prison system. This included central control for communication, body alarms, CCTV, door access control, and fire alarms.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, CONTINUED

SPECIAL PROJECTS OF NEW JERSEY, 1995 - 2000

Electrical Design Engineer

•Designed numerous custom systems, including: Industrial closed circuit television using fiber optic transmission cable and digital motion detection; Micro covert listening devices; Detection systems with automatic site monitoring, including power sub-stations, installed fence, and barred wire. For this, in-ground geoponics were installed. These analyzed in ground sound and created an alarm, which triggers the camera system for validation and transmits the signal to their off-site security office. This office could see and hear and operate lights at the premises. This system was installed at yacht clubs, prisons, and construction sites. I also designed Audio/video surveillance vans with a internal modular system for field usage. This included UPS and battery supply systems; a zero sone noise level dry ice cooler system. I designed within the modular system, a monorail center-slide seating with 360 degree vision for use with the audio and video racks in modular configuration. Extensive experience with wireless audio products, digital and analog design, noise-reduction algorithms and signal processing of noise, time domain and frequency domain analysis, phased domain, and noise measurement on telecomm lines.

SEMCOR, WEAPONS SYSTEMS, 1990 - 1995

Senior Principal Engineer / Electrical Engineer

Given a security clearance, worked on Naval projects at Lakehurst New Jersey, NADC Warminster, Aberdeen and Philadelphia Naval Yard. Responsible for requirements review, component selection, creation of design packages and generation of test procedures. Designed and engineered in-ground audio microphones used for detection in combat and security. These microphones had the ability to notch noise and suppress sound, using filters and clipping devices. Designed and engineered Geo-phones. Worked on launch and recovery projects, arresting gear, catapult, test cell, near field test set, M1 tank power supply Worked on multiple projects and wrote test procedures in view of military standards. Designed and developed tri-forces integration to test sets for differentials in hardware application (Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force). Near field radar test set was developed at Lakehurst Naval Engineering Center to test radomes for abnormally. This test requires depot level testing, (removal, ship, test, repair, ship and install) and repair. The test set allows testing to be performed at the aircraft aboard ship or on ground repair elimination the process of down time and raising productivity. Additional project information upon request held a secret clearance for this position. Experience with digital and analog design, noise-reduction algorithms and signal processing of noise. Hands-on test and troubleshooting, and formal documentation of the electrical design. Given secret clearance for position, DISCO

Level. 1990

THE BUDD COMPANY, a Rail Transportation Company, 1986 - 1990

Test Engineer

Developed a rail car test set to support paired car interaction wiring, a plug-in test set, and plug-in feedback modules using a diode array feedback. This provided indication of short, open, and mis-wiring in large scale point to point wiring harness. This allowed the production department to test the wiring of the rail car before the devices were installed. First test on a completed rail car produced seven errors in wiring harness. Upon delivery of the cars (which a pair connects together) to the customer sites, developed a method of testing the electronics as a mil-standard in view for the environmental conditions of the devices. After using the test set as a corrective action the product had quality performance. Using a military standard as the platform.

NEW YORK POWER AUTHORITY, Control Center, 1980 - 1986

Test Engineer

Designed and redesigned control system in view of high speed lease line communication to read and control remote system sites. Interfaced with system manufactures to interface with repair of many system problems both in design, reliability and performance. The position required an overall knowledge of instrument and control, in view of the energy control center needs. Designed the audio line and radio interface to provide emergency announcement capabilities. Redesigned UPS systems and battery test sets for computer status control. Included full center-event recorder for overall monitoring of all points of interest.
