●Provided corporate-level safety and health support for the 22 state-wide generating facilities (1550 employees), focusing on ensuring OSHA compliance. Duties included: writing and implementing new and revised safety and health procedures; conducting all root cause analyses for injuries and significant near misses, including determination of corrective actions; performing safety and health audits of facilities; developing and instructing safety and health training (fall protection competent person, confined space entry; lockout/tagout, hot work permit, incident management, etc.); reporting leading and lagging indicators on a monthly basis; guiding facility personnel during OSHA inspections; mentoring site safety personnel.

Typically, the schedule contained approximately 200 tasks for 225 workers.

●Coordinated the hiring and layoff of contractor employees as required to meet the workloads at the three plants.

Senior Maintenance Specialist, Plant Gaston, Wilsonville, Alabama 2010

●System Owner for large ($550 million) environmental retrofit projects.

●Responsible for development and execution of the maintenance strategy, budgeting and inventory.

Start Up and Commissioning Manager, Plant Gaston, Wilsonville, Alabama 2009 - 2010

●Temporary assignment for a large environmental retrofit project.

●Responsible for design review, installation quality assurance, equipment check out, operational procedures, system start up, initial operation and environmental compliance for a chemical injection system to control aerosol emissions. The system consists of over 3,000 pieces of equipment, such as mills, blowers, control valves, transmitters and variable frequency drives.

Team Leader – Compliance, Plant Gaston, Wilsonville, Alabama 2005 - 2009

•Responsible for environmental (air, land, water), health and safety compliance, including all EPA, DOT and OSHA requirements at a large electric generating station. Interfaced with internal Environmental Affair personnel and regulatory agencies. Responsible for all EHS procedures and self-assessments.

•Responsible for covering project EHS requirements in contractor pre-bid meetings, conducting contractor EHS orientations and monitoring contractor EHS compliance.

•Responsible for performance and maintenance of environmental compliance equipment, including emission monitors, precipitators, baghouses, fly ash handling equipment and the Selective Catalytic Reduction Unit, as well as potable water and demineralized water production facilities.
