*Image Classification with Big Data using Neural Networks:
- A convolution neural network with 15 layers was built using keras and tensorflow to train and classify over 80,000 images after pre-processing by deskewing, blurring and removing noise.
- Several machine learning algorithms KNN, Support Vector Machines, Decision trees were implemented and compared with extensive cross validation to end up with a final testing accuracy of over 98%.
*Search Engine for Wikipedia using Apache Spark:
- A working search engine was built for Wikipedia using the bag of words model and TF-IDF concept.
- The mllib library in spark was used to successfully return the top document hits for the specified word or phrase.
*Information Management System for a food corporation:
- A secure database management system was designed using relational databeases from scratch in MySQL for a fast food chain by building, transforming, and normalizing EER diagrams.
- A GUI was designed with Visual Basic (VBA) for hassle free user experience with complex built in SQL commands for managing and tracking shipments and inventory, placing orders, evaluating employees, managing transactions and generating visual sales reports.
*Full Factorial Experimental Design for Analysis of Factors Affecting Cycling Effort:
- The major adjustable factors that dominate cycling effort were identified and a 2K factorial experiment was designed and conducted to study factor effects and optimize the levels.
- A multivariate regression model was built on the significant factors and analytic tools like cube plots were used to determine the actual optimal levels for each factor.
