PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Verizon Wireless, Warren, NJ 2000-2017
Senior Systems Engineer, IT Billing & Rating Department
Developed, maintained, and provided support of mainframe Billing applications using HP Exstream Dialogue for creation of the customer bill statements and over 100 letter types in AFP format. Coded and maintained COBOL/DB2 programs as well as assisted in the migration to a Linux processing environment. Worked with internal and external clients on requirements, system testing, UAT, and coordinated change controls for monthly release software turnover.
IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) v9.5 Applications Administrator – responsible for system development including creation of folders, applications, app-groups, storage sets and server printers as well as maintenance, upgrades, error correction and support, document loads, and some user access. Responsible for the integrity of 17 years storage of over 105 Million customer monthly bills and letters across 3 data centers; over 40 Terabytes of DASD and 200 TB of Tape storage using OAM. Also responsible for running queries, defining indexes, document retrievals, and reprint processing.
Led the Operations Support – track issues, assigned resources, trained junior team members, approved code changes, and promoted code to production. Interviewed, and managed 2 consultants for the team.
Expert in AFP structured fields, indexing, and Tag Logical Elements (TLEs).
Familiar with OAM (Object Access Method) and setting management classes for retention of stored objects.
Setup OnDemand folders and loaded PDF documents from legacy Telecom companies into CMOD archive.
Interviewed candidates to work as contractors to support development projects.
Created program to extract customer bills and format them for Collections Debt Sale. This process saves the company more than $24 Million annually. Modified same process to use for Legal Dept. extracts which saves hundreds of hours and eliminates manual efforts. Debt sales are quarterly. Legal requests periodic. The idea was mine and all coding was performed by me.
Managed the OnDemand migration to version 7 including migrating indexes, environment setup, testing, and issue resolution. Worked closely with IBM migration team, developers, and support teams. IBM said it was one of the fastest and most organized migrations they had participated in.
DOJO – an immersion center where dedicated product teams go to for a 6 week engagement to accelerate the adoption of modern engineering practices. We converted the Debt Sale process to JAVA using Eclipse.
