PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Duties:
Prepare patients for exam by explaining procedure, transferring them to the ultrasound table, and then positioning them properly; extend scope of exam based upon findings.
Decide upon image inclusion and examine for differences between healthy and pathological areas.
Operate ultrasound equipment to record images of motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, and tissues and bodily masses, including fluid accumulations.
Ensure satisfactory image production through necessary equipment adjustments.
Maintain comfort and safety levels for patients throughout procedures.
Provide oral or written summaries of technical findings to physician.
Ability to perform level three obstetrical exams, gynecological and small parts exams.
Vascular Technician Duties:
Monitor patients’ blood pressure, heart rate, comfort, and safety during examinations.
Explain testing procedures and alert physician to abnormality in patient responses.
Prepare diagnostic procedure reports for physician interpretation.
Adjust equipment and controls in accordance to physicians’ orders and established protocols.
Ability to perform numerous vascular exams including carotid, venous, arterial, and segmental arterial pressures.
