Inspect, maintain, modify, test, remove, install, repair and service jet engines, engine ground support equipment, engine modules, and engine components. Interpret and implement directives and publications pertaining to maintenance functions. Prepare engines for installation, storage, and transportation. Solve maintenance problems by studying technical drawings, wiring and schematic diagrams, technical instructions and analyzing operating characteristics of engines. Responsible for selecting, using, caring for special tools, hand tools and testing equipment.

Troubleshoots, inspects, repairs, modifies, and tests JT3D, JT8D, SPEY 511, TAY 611, BRR 710, PW 2040 engines, and auxiliary power units through all phases of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Accomplished necessary maintenance actions to ensure integrity and reliability of complex systems installed on C137C, C9C, C20B, C20H, C32A, C37A providing worldwide airlift transportation for the President, Vice-President, Cabinet Members, and other high ranking national and international dignitaries. Supplements crew chief manning by servicing, ground handling, cleaning, launching, and recovering Special Air Mission Aircraft. Assisted crew in the performance of scheduled and unscheduled intermediate level maintenance, special inspections, and time compliances technical orders (TCTO).

Maintained accurate and timely data updates, and inputs to the core automated maintenance system. Performed (FOD) Foreign Object Damage housekeeping, safety, environmental compliance, and pollution prevention at all times. Received work from supervisor. Independently performed required maintenance with little or no supervision. Duties were performed in accordance with verbal instructions, manufacturer's specifications, technical manuals, and established shop practices. Disassembled and/or assembled compressor parts. Examined compressor and inlet housing for worn parts, cracks, dents, chips, corrosion, warpage, and correct part number. Performed minor repairs on parts with small dents, cracks, burrs, chips, or warpage. Removed minor corrosion from parts using files, sandpaper, buffer and small hand powered tools. Removed guide vanes, determine fault, and replaces or routes for repair. Routed other defective parts to the appropriate shop as required for repair. Placed shims on the housing as directed in the shop traveler. Removed and replaced bent or broken studs. Assured security, lock wiring, and torqueing of all leads, wiring, bolts, brackets, and other parts in accordance with technical requirements. Disassembled aircraft engines and components for salvage and/or repair. Prepared shop travelers and routed parts to appropriate prime shop for required repair. Checked alignment of vanes, dimension of bore, length of housing and thickness of flange with measuring devices.
