Purpose and Scope:

Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adherers to the FMCN Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.The primary function of the Clinical Laboratory Assistant 2 is to work closely with the Technicians and Technologists to acquire samples and records for laboratory testing and assists them in sample testing process.

Duties / Activities:

Customer Service:

- Responsible for driving the FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards.

- Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.

- Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.

- Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assist Technologists and/or Technicians in preparing samples and records for laboratory testing (Retrieve repeats and QNS samples).

- Prepare reagents under the guidance of the technologist.

- Find, sort and prepare samples for testing.

- Monitor department inventory: lab supplies and reagents.

- Verify samples (quality of samples received, appropriate samples and requisitions).

- Routinely attend compliance and OSHA training.

- Attend staff and inter-departmental meetings.

- Other duties as assigned

Hematology Department specific duties:

- OLA Archiving

- Loading samples

- Pending resolution

- Storing and dumping samples

- Dept. inventory

- Document storage

- HLab functions

- Data entry

- Service Now functions

- Refrig/Centrifuge PM
