Financial Analyst

Specialized in ad hoc analysis of financial data. Developed several analytical tools via Excel to assist in planning and reporting including an overhead budget model and an hourly payroll budget model. Assisted the Accounting Manager in monthly closing duties by accurately reporting financial data in a timely manner. Coordinated much of the budgeting process including developing timelines, assigning duties, developing zero-based templates for departments, and rolling up all data into presentable reports. Reconciled balance sheet accounts monthly. Helped develop and taught a training class that exposed plant employees to basic accounting knowledge and plant financial data. Further responsibilities included capital expenditure tracking, WIP Inventory tracking, and fixed asset management. I was the plant’s Excel Mentor, whereby I taught basic to advanced Excel and helped team members develop spreadsheet solutions to many of their analytical needs.

PERSONAL I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and playing disc golf. I also enjoy hiking on the Appalachian Trail, making many lightweight items used in back packing, and small woodworking projects.
