Manufacturing Manager 2014 to Present
Responsible for production of a $4.5M tape product line, representing 70% of company’s annual revenue. Supervises production and oversees up to 40 employees (machinists and shipping).
Schedules daily manufacturing of coating lamination, coating colors/grits, production of parts, packaging and shipping to ensure consistent, quality production. Sets production planning and scheduling to meet on time delivery. Manages equipment capacity and utilization to meet scheduling requirements and determine need for overtime.
Consulted on development of a new product “Extreme Coarse” in response to a unique customer requirement. Developed product and material specifications, created a prototype, performed product testing, identified a ‘top coating’ methodology, set up machine tolerances and trained employees on new production standard. Resulted in a successful launch for customer, which ultimately grew into a new, revenue generating product line.
Manages inventory by overseeing the inventory control process, levels, turnover and audits. Informs purchasing, treasury and operations management of current and forecasted needs.
Reviews customer blue prints to identify production layout and set up, with the goal of optimizing yield, reducing waste and minimizing physical stress for the operator (ergonomics).
Eliminates material/coatings waste and produces higher yields by examining non-standard orders and setting up efficient production approaches. Facilitates productivity by creating efficient work flow and processes. Ensures each department has the necessary tools/supplies.
Supervises 40 employees, including employee relations, attendance, performance, work instructions, adherence to policies, safety, training, productivity, quality and payroll.
Production Manager 2007 to 2014
Ran production of aluminum extrusions and fiberglass across two building sites, fulfilling customer orders for flooring products and parts. Supervised up to 40 machine operators (punch presses, coaters, slitters), shipping, warehousing, and production workers for a $2M manufacturing business.
Production Manager role continued….
Reviewed production orders and assigned work to Lead Operators, verified customer orders, and coordinated shipping/receiving to meet daily production goals. Scheduled overtime, vacations and shifted work when employees failed to report to work. Entered production data into the system and ran daily operations report.
Reduced safety instances by creating a council (made up of production employees) to identify issues and initiate actions to improve the work environment. Invited Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to review and ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards. Reduced company’s insurance as a result of improved safety measures.
Performed quality reviews, supervised production employees and worked with maintenance to keep machinery operating at peak levels.
Hired, trained and coached all employees. Completed annual performance reviews and determined merit compensation. Counseled employees on performance issues.

Lead Operator 2004 to 2007
Oversight over 5 to 8 machinists, including scheduling of incoming work, training, machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Reviewed daily production orders, requested materials, set up machine specifications and parts tolerances, assigned work, provided production support and reviewed final product prior to signing off on order.
Operated machinery, including slitters, punch presses and coaters to produce anti-slip flooring products and parts. Calculated tolerances to 1/1000 of an inch, read micrometers (e.g, calipers, verniers), and performed set-ups for other machinists.
