Responsible for defining the strategic direction and the day-to-day management of 400-700+ employees responsible for the YRCW open accounts receivable which has ranged between $0.5 and $1.2 Billion. This encompassed providing integration and day-to-day leadership direction in all areas of receivable management for the entire order to cash process. Responsible for the multiple business integration requirements for this area as Yellow Transportation acquired and assimilated the revenue of the Roadway $3.5 Billion (332 locations), USF Holland $1.4 Billion (75 locations) and USF Reddaway $ .6 Billion (67 locations) portfolios. Led the business integration of the merging of the Yellow and Roadway organizations into the single YRC organization for the Revenue Management Domain which include the areas of: Rating, Billing, Pricing, Invoicing, Credit and Collections, Risk Management, Data Entry, Imaging, Weight and Research, and Payment Processing. In the end, this integration has provided the framework to reduce annual cost in excess of $200 million, reduce business locations 36% (695 locations to 447) and reduce the employee base 18% (51,000 to 42,000) all the while driving a 7.3 day reduction in days sales outstanding. Responsible for leading and managing $160+ million in annual operating expenses and $400+ million annual credit card losses for this $3.8 billion portfolio. This position was the senior finance leader / comptroller responsible for all financial / operational issues related to this multi-site 1200+ employee business. Responsible for reviewing trend analysis, identifying opportunities and implementing financial process improvements. Facilitated the sale of $500 million in previously written off accounts to third party companies in 1997 which yielded $27 million in net income. Directed the financial analysis and led the consolidation of three collection sites to one and the outsourcing of collection work volume previously performed by 460+ associates. Responsible for the establishment of the credit and account management operations of a newly created GE Capital multi-million-dollar business whose primary focus is providing freight cost management services for small to mid- size third party businesses. Responsible for the creation and startup of the Macy’s Credit Services finance operation. This included the functions of general accounting, financial analysis, cash management, general ledger controls, and bank regulatory reporting. Responsible for hiring all associates and the establishment of all financial operating controls, policies and procedures. Trained all associates on the Macy’s and GE Capital receivable systems and lead the conversion of the $1.5 billion Macy’s portfolio to the GE Capital receivable system. During my tenure in this position, the GE audit staff rated the finance organization, the number one finance organization in GE Capital. Duties were ultimately expanded to include the leadership of the following areas: operations, finance, training, quality, consumer affairs, telecommunications and bank regulatory reporting.
