Under contract with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Miami Field Division as a Data Analyst, where I regularly use the Consolidated Asset Tracking System (CATS) to further the DEA’s asset forfeiture mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct investigative and Asset Forfeiture Support to the ARG Group Supervisor and staff.
Accountable for all ARG office equipment, including PC, monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, etc. This task also includes, generating DEA 12s, to order all supplies and services needed for the ARG.
Review and route documentation of various types regarding seized assets to appropriate asset forfeiture personnel. Establish and maintain physical files within DEA’s comprehensive file system.
Monitor internal status data of the disposition of all forfeited assets.
Receive original Standard Seizure Forms (SSF) from various Southern District of Florida offices and check for inconsistencies. Ensure information is accurate and perform analytical computations necessary to process data.
Exchange and develop information and make recommendations about inconsistent data from enforcement case files to boost accuracy of the Asset Forfeiture Program.
Gather additional information from different agencies and/or databases to complete case files/
Independently complete special research to support law enforcement cases using various data bases and research websites.
Update data on the internal forfeiture database (seizures and referrals) for the Miami Field Division, and maintain internal status information on the disposition of all forfeited assets.
Receive Florida Southern District claims and process them accordingly, serving as a liaison between the special agents and the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) and follow up until there is a Final Forfeiture Decision (FOF).
Provide administrative information concerning cases to other investigative agencies, local law enforcement agencies, the US Attorney’s Office, and other DOJ processing units.
