SENIOR CAPSTONE DESIGN PROJECT
Electrooculogram
• Member of a three-person multidisciplinary team. Two-semester project completed May 2018
• Project includes a PIC based EOG and EMG system built to measure the electrical signals given off by the eyes when movement occurs.
• Improvements to EMG circuit to decipher between unintentional and intentional blinks
• Software modifications were made to create a threshold using an MOBD algorithm to activate a flashing light when an intentional blink was detected
COURSE PROJECTS
Foot Blood Flow Detector/Massager
• Member of a two-person team. One-semester project scheduled for completed December 2017
• Project is based around the needs of diabetics with poor blood flow to legs and feet. Created a system that used a gyroscope and accelerometer to detect movement. When little movement was detected in the lower leg, a massage would be activated in the sock.
Electrocardiogram and Photoplethysmogram Design
• Member of a three-person multidisciplinary team. This project was done over the course of two semesters.
• Using the PIC, a working electrocardiogram and a photoplethysmogram was designed on a breadboard. Both of these, when completed gave accurate measurements. Connected to our breadboard was a Bluetooth device to display results on an android tablet through an app that was created using android studio. Modifications to a previously written code were made in order to get the app to display the graphs of the electrocardiogram and photoplethysmogram.
