Project : AVIS Wizard Modernization Program
Standard Role : Team Lead / Application Designer
Wizard Modernization Program is a multi-phase program that is designed to modernize Wizard by implementing foundational technologies such as new test environments, standardize on more modern database technology and convert older programming languages to the newer more flexible "C" language. The expected outcomes of the program are numerous; they include a more narrowly tailored Wizard core that processes reservation and rental transactions on the mainframe, as well as reducing platform costs while increasing agility and flexibility. The program will reduce the current cost of the rate-shopping functionality, and provide more flexibility to enable future improvements for the rate-shopping capabilities, car class expansion and introduction of new products. The modernized Wizard system platform will reduce the number of maintenance hours in a year resulting in greater system uptime.

Onshore tasks
-Attended trainings in London for Configuration Management up to its completion. As a result the team owned the tasks in offshore.
-Attend to developer inquiries and questions related to tools, environment and software development life cycle.
Offshore tasks
-Providing support only within the GBS Development Environment (i.e. no Production environment access will be granted);

The client is in the telecommunications industry which provides cutting edge services including high speed internet, high definition video, and voice over IP to its customers in the United States.
The project involved data analysis of orders from the time they were placed by customers until posted for billing. It also included monitoring of various applications and creation of status reports for the client leadership team.
As a data analyst, I monitor orders flowing through various applications. Attends to the call of application issues that occur and reports update until the issues are resolved. Also, I create and review the reports sent to the leadership team at the end of the shift, which contains summary of all the issues that occurred within the day.
