•Set-up, operate and program CNC, mill, and lathes

•Enter commands and manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions and out-of-tolerance machining

•Set-up and operate machines on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data

•Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements

•Lay out metal stock and work pieces, such as castings, plates, and machine parts, to indicate location, dimensions, and tolerances necessary for further processing

•Examine work pieces and verified such requirements as dimensions and squareness with rule, square, and straightedge

•Identify problems, diagnose causes and determine corrective actions

•Inspect machine parts to verify conformance to specifications

•Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment

•Operate welding equipment to cut and weld parts using arc, gas, mig, and tig
