PROJECT TITLE:

Enhancement of heat transfer with Nanofluid as a coolant in Pasteurization. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The main aim of this project is to utilize the nanofluid instead of Mono Propylene Glycol water mixture which is being used in the industry as a coolant in milk pasteurization.

Nanofluids containing different volume percentages (0.05 %, 0.1 %, 0.2 %) of Alumina nanoparticles in different volume percentages (0 %, 5 %, 10 %) of Ethylene Glycol Water mixture is prepared.

A nanofluid is chosen (0.2 % Alumina in 5 % Ethylene Glycol Water) among those nine nanofluids based on their properties determined (theoretically and experimentally as well).

Heat transfer rate of the chosen nanofluid is determined theoretically and is compared with conventional coolant.
