Customer Service Associate, Sales Specialist, Department Manager
As a Sales Associate, I worked on the front end running a cash register, working at the customer service and returns desk. I worked for two years as a Sales Specialist in the Millwork Department working with customers to get the doors and windows that they wanted in their home I have been a Dept. Manager for the last 7 years in various departments. I am responsible for scheduling coverage in the department and for maintaining inventory levels. I conduct weekly cycle counts on various assortments and perform monthly price audits to ensure that pricing is correct. Currently I work as the Department Manager of the Customer Service Department where I handle the issues concerning staffing running the customer service and returns desk, as well as cashiers on the front end, garden center and lumber area.
1999-2000- El Modeno Gardens
As a Grower for El Modeno Gardens in Riverside California, I was responsible for planting, growing and maintaining container plants to ship to retail garden centers all over the west and Midwestern United States. Each day I ensured that the plants in my sections of the nursery were watered and fertilized, pruned back or maintained in whatever manner they required. I pulled plants to fill orders and made sure they were loaded on the trucks on time and in good shape.

Customer Service was a priority for all positions but as Department Manager over Hardbacks, I was responsible for receiving the trucks, checking in the product and getting it to the sales floor. The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all the work on the Sales Floor, merchandising product and ensuring that the sales floor was maintained to corporate standards. I pulled return product to be sent back to publishers and made sure that everything was completed y the deadline.

As a research assistant, I helped my Major Professor analyze data and write the results of a sociology survey. These results were to be compiled into an article in a sociology publication.
1986-1990 – United States Peace Corps Zaire/Ecuador
Volunteer in the field of Agriculture and Livestock Extension.
As a Veterinary extension worker in Zaire and Ecuador, I lived and worked in a local community. I assisted the community members in improving the health and productivity of their livestock. I conducted seminars on specific topics and on a day to day basis worked with local farmers to try to implement vaccination programs and educate them about brucellosis and other livestock health issues.
