Operations Technician III Federal Managed Network July 2017 – Current CenturyLink Maintains private managed federal networks. Strong working knowledge of Metro Ethernet and SONET based networks. Knowledge and experience with MPLS, TDM, Ethernet, eLAN-eLine, TCP/IP, BGP, QoS, and IP across multiple hardware platforms including CISCO, Juniper, Nokia(ALU), CIENA, and more. Proactively monitor, respond to, and resolve network alarms. Perform circuit and equipment/network restoration, recognize and resolve potential jeopardy conditions. Perform network changes and modifications per customer requests. Work very closely with Federal government customers for all maintenances to conform to customer network management requirements and protocols. Systems Technician October 2015 – July 2017 Verizon Wireless Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance window changes with internal and external clients during the daytime and then implement these changes during scheduled maintenance windows while adhering to corporate standards. Work on includes Carrier-Class Cisco Routers running IOS-XR, Carrier-Class Juniper Routers, load balancers from both F5 Networks / A10 Networks and virtualization technologies from RedHat/VMWare. Both turn up new and disconnect older circuits of varying technologies and bandwidths (Frame-Relay, Metro-E, Gigabit, Hundred-Gigabit) using procedures written by both an internal engineering group and outside vendors.

Responsible for all first and second level troubleshooting for switching, data services, switch translations, data routing, and internal network transport topology. Provision data equipment including Cisco routers, DSLAMs, along with familiarity with Frame Relay, ATM and VOIP networking.
