Ericsson TV (2011 – Sep 2017)

Software Development Manager

Led several multimillion-dollar IPTV project deployments worldwide, overseeing cross-functional global Scrum teams in fast-paced environments. Headed scrum teams comprised of development leads, solution architects, analytical resources and product owners responsible for delivering key projects companywide that solved SDLC, delivery, operational issues and had tremendous impact on success of the company.

Partnered with ATT to implement project Transcoding as Service using SAFe agile methodology for the DirecTV NOW product; Served as a Technical Manager and guided a scrum team to implement CI/CD practices using the DevOps Model. My team’s contribution won a $7M contract extension with AT&T as a result.

Led the design, development and implementation of a key strategic Smart City connected Air prototype project for Ericsson using Lean Agile Principles.

Headed a $5 million IPTV product customization and deployment; translated complex business goals into key themes to customize application design and prioritize, budget, and collaborate on end-to-end solution delivery. I was the program lead for this 5 year initiative where I served as liaison between the Rogers, and Ericsson Product & Services team. There were two lines of products that I was responsible for delivering. As part of this project I managed 60 third party providers & suppliers to strategize complex, high-end designs, customize solutions, and author Metadata mapping documents, specifications and use cases to deliver the product successfully for the client.

As a Development Manager, I was responsible for providing strategic and technical direction, architectural design decisions, and tool recommendations. I established best practices across the team with peer reviews, and Test Driven Development(TDD) allowing us to catch bugs early during the development phase which increased productivity by 15%.

Presented the VP of Technology with a proposal for standardizing the defect management process, client engagement and management, and end-to-end process design; won approval for rollout division-wide which decreased defects by 50% and increased customer satisfaction by 40%.

Built business relationships and strategic partnerships with vendors and other business entities to address customer demands/requirements and ensure deadlines.

I was the major driving force in the creation of culture of shared learning by building Communities of Practice (CoP) resulting in increased cross-organizational collaboration and cross-functional active learning community.
